Building Better Relationships Worker

We are recruiting to a 32 hour per week post for a 2 year fixed contract.

JOB FUNCTION

The primary aim of the role is to support families where conflict and relationship difficulties impact on family life and the wellbeing of those involved or affected. This maybe separated, or together families.  This will be achieved through person-centred delivery of the BBR programme with individual parents, those who are separated or a couple, parents and children, or whole family groups.  Building Better Relationships is a brand new programme, aimed at supporting families with communication, conflict reduction and improving relationships so they can find a happier family life.

ABOUT YOU

You will be experienced in working with families experiencing difficulties, where relationships are strained. We are looking for a creative, energetic team member, who understands the needs of children, young people and parents, with the skills to offer advice, guidance and support, and a listening ear, underpinned by the core themes of Building Better Relationships. 

ABOUT US

TalkFIRST is a charity registered with the Charity Commission and has been serving families in the Wigan Borough since 2013.   We work to families and couples (separated or together) who are struggling with conflict, relationship difficulties and communication, by providing mediation and Building Better Relationships work.  We recognise the importance of relationships in everyone’s lives and the impact difficulties in this area can have on the everyday lives of both adults and children.  Our aim is for families to have the best experience of family life and enjoy good mental health and overall wellbeing.

1001 Group Family Worker

We are recruiting to the role of 1001 Group Family Worker (16 hours per week, £10.50 per hour). 

The primary aim of the role is to support families in the first 1001 days of their child’s life, (from conception, up to their child’s second birthday) where conflict and relationship difficulties impact on family life and the wellbeing of those involved or affected.  The word ‘family’ denotes relationships between any family members, (including those not tied by blood), including children and babies.  The 1001 Group is a multi-disciplinary programme for parents and families in the first 1001 days of their child’s life. 

Work with families will be person-centred and tailored to the needs of the individuals and family.   

The ideal applicant will have experience in working with families experiencing difficulties and understand the issues they face. We are looking for a creative, energetic team member, who understands the needs of children, young people and parents, with the skills to offer advice, guidance and support, and a listening ear.
